The LED lamp works on a 15 Second/30 Second timer. You place your hand underneath to cure the polish and it will flash at 15 seconds, and switch off at 30 seconds, so you don't need to keep an eye on the time yourself.
So, I decided to get one of my good friends, Mia, around to mind to by my guinea pig - she's a fan of using gel polish / manicures, plus she has a job that involves a lot of hand washing / using her hands so I thought this would be a good test of the longevity of the manicure.
We decided to go for the gel top coat method, as that meant that we could go for a bit of nail art... I painted her nails as usual, we did a bit of a gradient, and a bit of leopard print and then applied the top coat and cured this for 15 seconds under the lamp, as instructed.
Once cured, you finish off by using a lint-free wip and the gel cleanser and wipe this over the nail.
Here is the finished result, looking good, right?
In terms of removal - the advice is that this will take about 5 minutes. You start by buffing the nail slightly to break the top coat seal and either soak the nail in sensationail Gel Polish Remover, or foil wrap your nails with a cotton pad soaked in the remover, then use the manicure stick provided to push any remaining polish off your nails.
I will be reporting back in respect of the longevity of the manicure, so watch this space!
