NEW! Nailbox - monthly nail polish launch box!

Monday, 13 April 2015

Hello!  I'm really excited to show you my post and swatches today as I've got a sneak preview of a new monthly nailbox subscription service from www.nailbox.co.uk.  This is incredibly exciting news as this is the opportunity to get a monthly delivery of beautiful seasonal shades of mainstream polish brands, which I don't think we've got going on anywhere else at the moment in the UK.  WHOOP!

So, whats the score?  Each month, nailbox will send 4 full size polishes and an additional nail care item.  You can choose to subscribe for a full year, and pay £13.50 per box (delivery included) or buy on a monthly basis for £15 a month (delivery included).  I love the idea of getting a box of pretty polishes delivered to me each month!

So this month is the launch box, and this is what is in the box.  The box comes packed with polystyrene packaging, so the polishes are really safely packaged, and it was like a lucky dip pulling them out, which was fun!

In here we have:

  • Revlon Colourstay - 100 Buttercup
  • Essie - Muchi, Muchi
  • China Glaze - Peachy Keen
  • OPI - Kiss Me On My Tulips
  • Essie padded nail file

Great start by the looks of things - these are all lovely spring colours, and they all look like they will work nicely together for some nail art.

So, starting off with China Glaze - Peachy Keen.  This is a lovely shade, it's leaning slightly towards a pale orange, rather than a peach, and is a lovely, pretty colour.

This applied really nicely, and dried to a lovely shine.  I do love China Glaze polishes and this one was no different.  It was pretty much opaque in two coats, but I've applied three here.

Next we have the lovely cerise pink OPI - Kiss Me On My Tulips.  I'm a sucker for a beautiful pink, so this one is right up my street.

This applied beautifully and was opaque in pretty much one coat, but I've applied two here.  Really fast drying and lovely shine.  NICE.

Next we have Essie - Muchi, Muchi.  This is a really pretty delicate pink shade.

This was definitely more of a jelly consistency so I did need a few coats to build up the colour, however I was really impressed at how quick it dried and didn't end up gloopy.  I did about five coats here.  I think in future I would use this over a white base.  I think if your nails aren't so stained (shame!) thne you wouldn't need so many coats.

Finally we have Revlon Colourstay - 100 Buttercup. OH HELLO LEMON BEAUTY.

I do DEEPLY love a yellow, and this gorgeous pale yellow is an absolute beauty.  LOVE.  Usually I have to apply a white base underneath a yellow but none required here as it's a lovely cream consistency.  This is three coats.

So, this collection of pretty colours?  Calling out for a gradient isn't it!!  And here we have it.

And just for a final spring look, I've added some flowers.  This combination looks really pretty.

So, what do you think?  I'm really impressed.  It's so nice to receive a combination of different brands, and on the high end side of what you can get on the high street.  The price of the box definitely makes these polishes a bargain as a collection.
