Lacquerdaisical - Sakuralige

Friday, 31 January 2014

Hello!  I've got a swatch of another really rather pretty polish from new UK indie polish maker Lacquerdaisical.  The other day I showed you Load of Pollocks, and the polish I am going to show you today is called Sakuralige.

Sakuralige is a pale pink base packed full of metallic pink and purple glitters, with a few bar glittery bits thrown in there too.  Now, I'm not normally a fan of bar glitter in polish, but I think this is sparse enough and (applies nicely too) for it to actually look really pretty, rather than scruffy.

I layered two coats of Sakuralige over a pink base.  As I said, this applies really nice and dries to a lovely smooth finish.  Another winner for me.  Lovely.

Alexia who is the creator of Laquerdaisical is just starting out, so this polish is literally HOT OFF THE PRESS and she is currently selling her polishes through her facebook page www.facebook.com/laquerdaisical - do head on over and check her out!

All polishes are available as either a 5ml for £2.50 or a 15ml for £6 plus £3.50 for P&P for up to 4 polishes.

So, starting off with the rather lovely Cornflower Gleam.  Oh, hellow lovely unusual blue shade!  This is a lovely colour and as promised, dries to a gorgeous shine (no top coat in these pictures!).  This is two coats of Cornflower Gleam.

Next we have Pink Veneer.  Again, drying to a lovely glossy finish, and really quite a lovely baby pink.  I LIKE THIS A LOT.  I use pink a lot for nail art and I'm always on the look out for my next favourite baby pink and this is now top of the pops, squee!  This is two coats of Pink Veneer, no top coat.

Finally, we have Lilac Sheen.  This is a really pretty shade and again as per the previous two polishes, dries to a lovely shiny sheen with no top coat required.  Lovely.  This is two coats of Lilac Sheen.

So, what do you think?  I am very excited by these new Models Own releases.  These polishes are really lovely to apply and provide an excellent finish, as promised.  I am definitely looking forward to seeing what the other shades in the collection are and trying them out.

Also, anyone think these three shades are crying out to be gradiented together?!  Watch this space ;-)

These polishes will be priced at £5 each and will be launched at Models Own bottleshops throughout February and March 2014.

Laquerdaisical - Load of Pollocks

Wednesday, 29 January 2014

Hello!  I've got a swatch of a really rather pretty polish from new UK indie polish maker Lacquerdaisical.  I've got a couple of polishes from her lovely collection coming up over the next few days so keep your eyes peeled!

The polish I am going to show you today is called Load of Pollocks (Oh my goodness!  I love the name! Aside from the play on words, I'm assuming this is a nod towards abstract artist Jackson Pollock, who was famous for his abstract, colourful painting).

Load of Pollocks is a white base jam packed full of colourful matte glitter in various shapes.  I applied two coats over a white base.  This applied beautifully, and I just absolutely love this.  GORGEOUS.

Multi-coloured Leopard Print Nail Art

Tuesday, 28 January 2014

Hello!  I've got something super bright and colourful for you today.  Now, I do love me a leopard print gradient, so I decided to go all out with a multi-coloured rainbow gradient party on my fingers.

I won't lie, this did take a while!  I love all these colours together though!  I originally did the gradient then sat and stared at the rainbow for a while before trying to decide what to do, and then I thought, well, if in doubt, get the leopard print out.  Wheeee!
