A-England Polka Dotting

Sunday, 31 March 2013

Hello!  HAPPY EASTER!  I hope you all have lovely days planned.

A while ago I showed you some beautiful A-England polishes, well I've whipped a few of them out again and I decided to do some polka dots.

The base colour is St George, which is the most ridiculously gorgeous rich green polish I have ever seen.  I then used different sized dotting tools and Excalibur (Silver) and Bridal Veil (Black shimmer) to create some random circular dotty patterns on my nails.

Vintage style nail art

Saturday, 30 March 2013

Helllo my lovelies!  Today I've got some cute nail art to show you.  I have gone for a vintage style theme, and decided to do a mixture of polka dots, flowers and stripes.

I used the following polishes for this manicure:

Collection Cosmetics French Manicure White
Collection Cosmetics Candy Floss
Kiko 343 (Green)
Kiko 389 (Minty green)
George Swoosh (Coral pink)

I used striping tape for the stripey nails, and a dotting tool to create the rest of the design, I decided to finish it off with some blingy bows to add a bit of sparkle.

Sinful Colors UK - Swatches

Friday, 29 March 2013

Hands up who is excited that Sinful Colors has landed in the UK?!  Whoop whoop indeed!  I decided to take advantage of Boot's introductory offer of £1.99 a polish, plus three for two, and got myself quite a haul, exciting!

So in order to showcase as many polishes as possible, I've got a couple of manicures to show you today.  Overall, I found these polishes to have great coverage (in particular the cremes) and totally the worth the completely bargain price.  MORE PLEASE!

First up, I decided to dig into the pink selection of polishes that I bought to create a leopard print mani with a blingy twist.  The polishes I used for this were:

Leopard nails:  Easy Going, Glass Pink, Boom Boom and Black on Black
Pink sparkley nail:  Pink Glitter

My second manicure for you is using a lot of green shades; I decided to go for a some polka dots and add some sparkle.  The polishes I used for this were:

Polka dot nails: Envy, Be Happy and Pistache
Green sparkly nail:  Nail Junkie

Invogue Suede Effects

Thursday, 28 March 2013

Hello!  A couple of days ago I showed you the new Feather Effect polishes from Invogue.  Today, I've got a couple of their Suede Effect polishes to show you.  I tried out the W7 Suede Effect polishes a couple of weeks ago and loved them, so I was interested to see how these would fair.

I picked up two of the colours from their four colour range; the purple (Sophisticated) and the green (Emerald Dust).

First up is Sophisticated.  The formula applies beautifully and is pretty much opaque in one coat, but I obviously did two for luck.  Like the W7 range, this is a super quick dry polish also.  Good stuff!

This is incredibly similar to W7 Mauve Suede, maybe a slightly lighter shade.

Next is Emerald Dust.  I was drawn to this because it was such an unusual colour.

I wasn't sure how well the coverage would be with it being a much lighter shade, but I was impressed; this is two coats.

I also decided to give some nail art a go with these polishes, as I felt the two colours clashed together well (in a good way!).  I used curved nail guides down the side of my nail, and a dotting tool to create some inverse dots.

I then decided to try some top coat, to see what this polish does look like glossy; as you can see, it does bring out the sparkle within the polish; pretty!

So, what do you think?  I'm pretty impressed!  Invogue have definitely landed in the polish market with an exciting bang!
