Tequila Sunrise Gradient

Thursday, 31 January 2013

Anyone fancy a Tequila Sunrise?  I certainly do!  I decided to inject a bit of colour into my day with these really bright gradient nails.  As usual, white basecoat, then sponged on the gradient using the following colours:

Misa -  Jester Ate The King Cake (Yellow)
Barry M Gelly - Satsuma (Orange)
Rimmel Celebrity Bash (Deep Red)

Models Own - Magenta Divine

Wednesday, 30 January 2013

Look at the glittery goodness!  This is Models Own - Magenta Divine.  It's a very densely packed fuschia coloured glitter, and the pictures below are three coats, with no base colour.  When I first got the polish it was a bit thinner to apply, but a month or so later it's thickened up a bit so it doesn't require tons and tons of coats.  It hasn't fully covered to the tips on a couple of nails, if I'm being overly fussy, but overally it's great coverage and looks so sparkley!

Barry M Limited Edition Pink - Polka dotted up...

Tuesday, 29 January 2013

The other week I showed you the completely gorgeous Barry M Limited Edition Pink.  I decided to give it another go and jazz it up again, with pink and black, I've realised I keep doing this colour combination at the moment!  I do love it, but I must make a note to branch out a bit!    I painted my tips with Collection Cosmetics white, at an angle, then used a dotting tool and Collection Cosmetics Liquorice (black) to jazz it up with some polka dots.

Barry M Lemon Ice Cream

Monday, 28 January 2013

This is another oldie but a favourite of mine amongst my stash.  I know a lot of people aren't massive yellow fans, but it's a colour I wear quite a lot, I love it, especially in the summer (which is not now, but I am trying to brighten up a gloomy wintery day!).  This is Barry M Lemon Ice Cream, which is a pastel yellow shade.  As usual, application is great, the only thing I do always make sure I do when I am wearing a yellow, is that I put a white basecoat underneath, as this really helps the colour to pop out more.

I decided to jazz this up with some black diamantes.  You can't beat a black and yellow combination, I love how they look together.

Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream and silver gradient...

Sunday, 27 January 2013

I decided to go for a bit of gradient action today...  This time I decided to do a combination of Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream, Collection Cosmetics Lilac and ME ME ME Silver.  Quite subtle I suppose, but also quite apt for the cold, icy weather!

Collection Cosmetics - polka dots and nail adornments

Saturday, 26 January 2013

Eeeee!  I love this!  I recently bought some super ridiculous nail adornments the other week and I was desperate to try them out so I thought I'd go completely girly and pink/black/white polka dot it up.  I love this colour combination, and yes, the bows are ridiculous, but I love them!

For this I used Collection Cosmetics polishes:
Liquorice - Black
White
Darker pink - Neon Art
Light pink - Hoola Hoop

I then used top coat to secure the ribbons and they stuck down pretty well.  I got the plastic bows from eBay, there's quite a selection of colours available too.

All studded up!

Friday, 25 January 2013

I first used these studs a while ago to do a sailor inspired manicure and I dug them out again to do a really simple manicure with a few Collection Cosmetic lovelies that I hadn't got round to trying yet.

I used the following polishes:

Collection Cosmetics Midnight (a deep, dark purple/grey shade)
Collection Cosmetics Electric Dreams (turquoise/teal/green type shade)
Collection Cosmetics Damson Jam (deep red)
Collection Cosmetics Dusk (this is a really rich dark green)

To secure the studs, I put a layer of top coat, and then positioned the studs into place.  Last time I used them they didn't really stay put for very long, so this time I put top coat over the top, and that totally sorted the problem out, they were stuck on fast this time.
