So Susan Cosmetics - Monthly Beauty Box

Thursday, 7 November 2013

Hello!  I've got an exciting post to show you today!  So Susan Cosmetics have launched a monthly Beauty Box and they've very kindly sent me one of their launch boxes to review. This is super exciting, a box of polishes delivered to your door each month for the bargain price of £10!  SQUEE!  In the box you get four full size polishes, which I am going to show you swatches of today.  Pretty!

So, what do you actually get?  The polishes come in a lovely box, and a packaged really nicely.  The box slides open to reveal four polishes (all boxed up in adorable packaging) plud there was an eyeliner/eyeshadow combo in there too which I am looking forward to trying out.

The four polishes in this box are Raspberry (a deep red), Pink Guava (pink), Silver Clouds (shimmery mauve) and Mimosa (nude pink).

So what's the deal with these polishes?  They are highly pigmented nail lacquer formulated to be chip-free and to remain intense with shine from the first application. The formula has a quick drying time and is enriched with Rosehip fruit oil to moisturize and strengthen your nails and the delicate skin around it.

This is a 4-Free nail lacquer :
  • No DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate)
  • No Toluene
  • No Formaldehyde
  • No Formaldehyde Resin
So, onto the swatches.  First up we have Pink Guava.  This is a gorgeous rick pink/corally shade and as promised, it did dry really quickly and was very shiny.  Application was lovely and no top coat required!  This is three coats of Pink Guava.

Next we have Silver Clouds.  This is a shimmery mauve shade, it's really pretty.  Again, application was great and this was three coats.

Next is Raspberry.  LOOKIE AT THE SHINE!  This is a gorgeous, really rich red shade, really, really nice.  This was three coats of Raspberry.

Finally we have Mimosa.  Now, I knew I'd personally have a problem with this because my nails are so stained underneath, and this is a lovely natural nude shade which is a perfect base for a french manicure.  I decided to use Mimosa as a base and then add some angled tips using Raspberry and I was really pleasantly surprised.  This has covered my awful stained nails and they look a natural shade!  Winner!

Overal, I was really impressed with the box, the polishes are lovely and super shiny, and I love the idea.  I've subscibed to beauty boxes in the past, but most of the contents has either gone unused or just isn't suitable in the first place.  A polish only box is a great idea, as I know I'd definitely be interested in all of the contents!

So, fancy yourself a monthly box of goodies?  Currently the boxes are available only in the UK (which makes a nice refreshing change for us in good ol' blighty!).  So, head over to So Susan Cosmetics and you can purchase yourself a launch box.  There's currently a limit of 1000 subscribers, so get your hurry on so you don't miss out!

Once you purchase your first box, you will be registered as a Lacquerlove Member and will receive monthly newsletters previewing the next box.

The next payment will then be taken automatically 2 working days after the preview newsletter, so you can choose to either opt-out that month, or let them know to send it to as a gift to a friend instead.
