So, onto the tutorial. For this manicure you will need:
- White polish
- Striping tape
- Make up sponge (dampened)
- Scrap paper
- Polishes for your gradients
- I've used a blue, green and purple on my stripy nails and three shades of pink on my polka dot nails
- Dark red/pink, light pink and green polish for your flowers
- Dotting tools
- Cotton buds and nail polish remover
- Top coat
- Bow nail adornments
So, to start, paint your nails a white base colour and let this dry completely.
Next, position on your striping tape onto the nails that you are going to put the stripy pattern on. Pre-cut the strips of tape so that you don't end up in a big sticky mess!
Then, get your make up sponge (make sure that it has been dampened) and paint on the colours for your gradient directly onto the sponge, smoosh once onto some scrap paper, and then sponge onto your nails.
Keep sponging until you are happy with your gradient. I've done the gradient in different directions on different nails, just to mix it up even more.
Next, repeat the process with your pink polishes on your leftover fingers.
Let this all dry, and then quickly tear off the striping tape, this will leave you with the white stripes showing through.
Apply a top coat before you tidy up to seal in your gradient.
Then, use a cotton bud and nail polish remover and tidy up any polish that is on your skin and cuticles.
Once this is done, take your light pink polish and place some large pink blobs onto your stripy nails, using a dotting tool.
Then, whilst this dries, add some white polka dots to your pink nails using a dotting tool.
Then, using a red polish, or darker pink, and a small dotting tool, create your roses.
Use a green polish and a small dotting tool to add leaves.
Let this dry, add top coat, and then some bow adornments as well. You can also stick these on with superglue if you want them to last longer.
And there you have it! It's not one of the most simple tutorials I've done, but I think you can probably mix up the design, or just use create an accent nail using one of the designs if you don't want to spend all day creating your manicure!
