33 Day Challenge - Day 15 - Animals

Friday, 25 October 2013

Hello!  Today is Day 15 of the 33 Day Challenge, and the theme today is Animals .  I have decided to go for a sparkly flamingo party!  These nails are dedicated especially to my fabulous brother Paul, who does love a good 'mingo.  Plus, I've done a little tutorial also!

I've been working with Salons Direct to come up with some nail art and tutorials using China Glaze nail polish and today I've used Highlight of My SummerFlip Flop Fantasy, and Neon & On & On to create this flamingo look.

So for this manicure, you will need:

Start by painting your nails a pale base colour.  Let this dry.

Next, take your darker pink polish and paint a small semi-circle at the tip of your nail.  Let this dry.

Take your paler pink and paint a small semi-circle inside your dark pink semi-circle.

Then using either a pintbrush or a large dotting tool, paint a backward C shape using your darker pink.  This is the head and neck of your 'mingo.

Then, use a dotting tool and white polish and place a medium size dot for the eyes, and a small dot near where your beak is going to go.

Then take a black polish, and place small tiny dots for the eyes.

Then, use a small dotting tool and black polish and create your beak.

Let this all dry completely and finish with a top coat!

And you are done!  Flamingo nails!

Now, if you want to go a bit further, you could add some glitter to your design too...  I added top coat and used a cocktail stick to position some loose glitter onto my nails, so that I had a truly sparkly flamingo party!
