Swirly polka dots tutorial

Friday, 16 August 2013

Hello!  I've got another little tutorial for you today!  Recently I have been working Salons Direct to create some nail art and tutorials using China Glaze nail polish and I thought I'd show you how to do a a swirly polka dot pattern on your nails.

So, for this manicure you will need the following:
So, start by painting your nails with a base colour.  I've done a gradient here, but any colour that won't contrast too much with the black and white you are going to use for your polka dots.  I recently did a gradient tutorial too, so if you fancy having a base at that, you can check that out here.

So, start with your black polish and place a dot in the centre of your nail.

Start working around in a swirly shape, but leave a gap for your white polish.

Keep going round your nail with small black dots.

Add some dots at the base of your nail too.

Next, get your white polish, and start from the middle and dot around in the gap that you've left.

Keep going!

Make sure you've filled in the base and the tips.

Let this dry thoroughly and then top coat.

So, as you can see, this design is really easy to do, but the finished effect looks pretty ace!
