More Barry M Nail Art Pen creations

Does anyone else have posts that sit in draft for AGES and AGES and next to never get posted, or is it just me?  Haha!  Anyway, today, I thought I'd show you two manicures that I very nearly just hit the delete button on, but thought, well, I might as well post them.  They probably aren't really all that bad, but I've gone in to edit this post about 30 million times and always found something else sitting in draft I love better.

So, today I have for you two designs that I came up with when playing around with the rather FABULOUS Barry M Nail Art pens a while ago.  This first one I decided to do was a yellow gradient, and then add a lacey pattern and some gold studs to it.  One thing I have noticed with the nail art pens is that they don't apply that great if you are going to put them on, say a day later, over something that's been top-coated.  I always use Sally Hansen Insta-dri which is lovely and shiny, but it did make it difficult to use the nail art pens over it.  It still kind of worked, but it's not as neat as I wanted it to be.

Secondly, here's a yellow/orangey gradient that I used the black and white nail art pens with to draw some stripes over.  I mean, sometimes, you can go with the flow and it all turns out ok, and then sometimes you end up with something like this.  I've no clue what it is, and it's a bit busy and not quite right.  But you can't always win, right?

  2. Oooh, me me! I have had a post sitting in my drafts since June, I may just delete it. I'm not really sure why I haven't posted it, but I just never seem to get around to it.

I love these pens, they allow for so much detail! I'll definitely check them out. I have art pens from another company, but they don't have such a great range of colors.

  3. I adore the nail-art pens, and am so happy with how they're still working just as well as when I bought them when they first came out. Even when they do run out I'll definitely definitely buy them again because they're pretty much an essential in my nail-art creations now. I want more colours!

Love these designs, especially the second one, it's so bold and arty! X

  4. You did that top one with the Barry M pens? Holy CRAP! That looks amazing - I assumed it was water decals or stamping from the pic in my timeline!

    1. Haha, thank you! I think I might have stared at it too much and got an irrational hate for it when it wasn't that bad, I am a bit psycho perfectionist though, lol x

  5. Same as Elanor? Your complaining that's not neat?! You don't want to look at my nails after they've been attacked with a nail art pen haha... and how did you do the other hand so perfect? x

    1. Ah thank you! I am left handed but do everything apart from writing with my right hand so it's not too difficult to do the other hand if I concentrate a lot! It's quite a lot slower to do though, lol x
