I've got some really lovely polishes to show you today.... I don't know if you remember a while back I showed you the Ice Cream Nail Polish Collection from Etude House? Well, I've managed to get my hands on some more of their lovely polishes, of which I am going to show you today.
Etude House is a Korean beauty brand, however, it's usually pretty easy to grab yourself some of these pretties for bargain prices on eBay or Amazon.
The polishes I've got to show you today are from their "Dear My Nails" collection; and these are their Matte Sand Glitters; Sapphire Blue Sand, Evening Black Sand, Ruby Red Sand, and Garnett Purple Sand.
First off, I believe that the term "matte" is slightly misleading. These do dry matter than say a super shiny polish, but there is definitely still a bit of a shine there. Also, I suspect they are supposed to be textured, but thankfully, they aren't really at all (just CHOCK FULL OF GLITTER) and you would get them completely smooth with a top coat (which I did for my final swatch to show you).
Anyway, first up; the bottles! Their bottles are always so cute. LOOK AT THE SPARKLE!
So, starting with Sapphire Blue Sand. WOWEE. Basically, this was only two coats, with no base colour and no top coat. You can see it is still pretty shiny, I suspect it may become matter once it's fully completely dry, but I do prefer it sparkly. This is fully of blue glitter, but also some lovely purple glitter in there too. Really, really lovely.
Next we have Evening Black Sand. I probably liked this the least out of the three, mainly because it just doesn't have as much of a wow factor attached to it, but it's still pretty nice. I suspect this'll be a great polish for halloween, it's pretty vampy. Again, two coats, no top coat.
Next we have Ruby Red Sand. Now, I would say this name is a bit misleading, as unless I've got eyesight issures, this is definitely more of a pinky shade than a red. However, it's very pretty, very sparkly and again, only two coats required with no base coat.
Finally with have Garnett Purple Sand. This is just beautiful. It's chock full of purple and pink glitter and I just love it. For this one, I've topped with one coat of top coat, just to add to the shine and sparkle, and it works pretty well. The slight "textured" effect was soaked up immediately and glossy shiny glitter, hello!
So what do you think? I love these polishes, especially that they are so rammed with glitter and no base is required. I am not convinced they are matte or textured, but since that isn't particularly at the top of my list of things I like in a polish, this is fine by me!
