Panda Nails Tutorial

Saturday, 6 July 2013

Hello!  I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!  I have a little tutorial for you today.  AGGGESSS ago I did some panda nails, and I thought I'd recreate them again, and do a little tutorial at the same time.  They are ridiculously easy to do, and look so cute!

For this you will need:
  • Base colour (for the purposes of this tutorial I've used a different base colour on each nail just to demonstrate that any colour works, as long as it isn't too dark or too light, to allow a decent contrast with the white and black of your panda)
  • White polish
  • Black polish
  • Dotting tools
  • Top coat
So, to start, prep your nails with your base colour.  Again, for the purpose of this tutorial I am going to put a panda on each finger, but I reckon they'd look really cute as an accent nail on your manicure as an alternative.

Once your base colour is dry, use a white polish and sweep a circular shape at the tipes of your nails.  You don't need any special brushes or tools to do this, if you are careful with your polish brush and don't put too much polish on there, that should be fine for getting the shape on your nails.  Also, don't worry about it being too perfect, as this is going to get covered up.

Now, get your dotting tool, and place two large black dots for your panda ears.

Place two large dots for the panda eyes.  This do need to be fairly large as we are going to be dotting inside them.

Add a black dot for your panda nose.

Next, get your white polish, and carefully place a white dot inside the eyes.  Again, as big as you can without going over the black as we still need to place another dot inside this.

Make sure your white dots are dry, (to stop any colour running) and place a small black dot in the middle of each eye.

Now, let all this dry completely, and then place a top coat onto your design.  If you top coat too quickly, the design will smudge, and we don't want no crying pandas do we?!

And there you go!  Easy-peasy panda nails!
