Born Pretty Store: Half Pearl Nail Decorations - Wheel

Wednesday, 3 July 2013

Hello!  Today I've got another review for the fabulous Born Pretty Store, this time I am going to show you their half pearl nail decorations, which come in a wheel containing twelve different colours for the bargain price of $4.74.

So I've come up with a few little designs to show you how you can use these to jazz up your manicure, and I hope you like them.

First off, let's start simple. I decided to go for a black base colour of China Glaze Leather, and then just added a top coat, and a line of pearls down each fingernail.  I thought I'd change the colour so it was more of a rainbow effect.  I reckon this would looke really nice as an accent nail, or if you maybe did some colours reversed (e.g. black pearls on a pink base colour).  Anyway, this is really simply done.  I used an orange stick to position the pearls and they really well to my nails.  They don't discolour if you seal them in with top coat over the top, so if you want your manicure to last longer, that is definitely an option.

Next, polka dots!  I did a polka dot manicure using Models Own Grape Juice and Models Own Pukka Purple and then I added some blue pearls over some of the dots, and then used a resin flower adornment (which I reviewed a while ago) as an accent nail.

Finally, I did this pretty busy manicure, a gradient of China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, Heli-Yum and Keepin' it Teal and used the white Barry M Nail Art Pen to add some leopard tips, and then a red pearl at the base of the nail which I think really worked well to tie all the colours in together.

So, what do you think?  I think these are a great product, and a must for any nail art fanatic.  You get hundreds of pearls in the wheel, so these should definitely keep me going for a long time!

  2. Wow they look great! I especially love the first two.

I'd seen these on the BPS site and thought they'd be really hard to use (as in, how to get them to look good, I knew they'd function fine) but you've totally changed my mind. They're on my list!
