Hello! A few weeks ago I showed you Pocket Money Polishes Glitter Babies collection, and today I've got the new summer collection to show you. Charlie has been working hard on a new glitter explosion, with a theme of matte glitters to song names. This will go on sale on July 1st at Pocket Money Polishes. It's so exciting to have a UK indie brand, easy access to sparkles makes me happy!
There are five polishes in this collection; Firework, Summertime, Ice Ice Baby, Pina Colada and Pretty Woman.
Here are some close-ups of the glittery goodness before I get onto the swatches... weeeee! sparkles!
So, first off, Firework. This is a clear base filled with tiny bits of blue bar glitter, slightly larger purple glitter and little blue stars. I decided to put Firework over a black base so that the glitter would all pop out, but I reckon it'd look ace over a contrasting colour like red or orange. The little stars are really cute, and are quite easy to fish out. They also sit smooth onto your nail once you've top coated, which is great. This is two coats of Firework over 2True Black.
Next, we have Summertime. This is a clear base filled with yellow and green glitter, plus some really cute pale blue hearts. I decided to put Summertime over a white base, which I think looks really nice, but again, I think a contrasting orange or purple would look pretty ace too. The little hearts are lovely, and don't require too much effort to fish out and place onto your nails. They also sit smooth onto your nail once you've top coated, too. This is two coats of Summertime over Sinful Colors Snow Me White.
Now we have Ice Ice Baby. This is a clear base filled with pale green/silvery/blue glitter pieces. I decided to put Ice Ice Baby over a white/blue/turquoise gradient, which I am totally loving. It's not too easy to photograph the sparkle, so you'll have to take my word for it that this polish is a cracker! This is two coats of Ice Ice Baby over a gradient of Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Models Own Blueberry Muffin and Barry M Greenberry.
Here is Pina Colada. This is a clear base filled with yellow and orange glitter, plus some square pink glitter. I decided to put Pina Colada over a Barry M Passion Fruit and I think it works great! Hand me a cocktail, please! This is two coats of Pina Colada over Barry M Passion Fruit.
Finally, we have Pretty Woman. This is a clear base filled with white, pink and red glitter, plus some really cute pink and red flower glitter. I decided to put Pretty Woman over a pink base, which I think looks really nice, but again, I think a contrasting black would look pretty ace too. The little flowers are lovely, but you do need to put a bit more effort in to get them out and place them onto your nails, but they do sit smooth onto your nail once you've top coated. This is two coats of Pretty Woman over Sinful Colors 24/7.
So, what do you think? Obviously they are all lovely, but I think Ice Ice Baby is my favourite, as it's such a lovely subtle sparkley glitter. Pina Colada coming a close second, as I love the red/orange/pink combination.
