Models Own Fruit Pastel Collection - Swatches

Thursday, 6 June 2013

Hello!  I've got a little swatchathon for you today, comprising of the Models Own Fruit Pastel Collection.  I've been eyeing these pretties up for a while and I finally buckled the other day and swiped the lot, and I am so glad I did!  They are blimmin' lovely.

There are five polishes in this collection; Strawberry Tart, Banana Split, Apple Pie, Blueberry Muffin and Grape Juice.  There is also the added novely that they are scented!  It's not something I'd normally look for in a polish I have to say, but it does add a little unique selling point to these polishes.  I have no idea how science makes this work, but it does, and all have scents quite similar to their namesake.

So, first up is Strawberry Tart.  This is a gorgeous baby pink creme, with peach tones in it also.  I love this kind of colour as I don't think you can ever have too many pinks.  This is three coats of Strawberry Tart.

Next we have Banana Split.  Obviously I LOVE THE YELLOW, so I was always going to be a fan of this polish.  I do love a pale yellow!  I popped this over a white basecoat, so that the colour popped out a bit more... this was two coats of Banana Split.

Next we have Apple Pie.  This is quite a minty green which is quite difficult to capture on camera for some reason, but again, another winner in my eyes.  This is three coats of Apple Pie.

This is Blueberry Muffin.  This is a lovely pale blue, which I'd say is slightly thinner on application than the rest of the polishes, but still good enough to be opaque after three coats.

Finally, Grape Juice.  Squee!  Love this one also!  What a lovely pale purple.  This is three coats of Grape Juice.

So, what do you think of this collection?  Which one is your favourite?  I have to say, I love that basically there is a pastel coloured rainbow of colours, as it's giving me all kinds of ideas for how I can use them for some nail art.
