Models Own Fruit Pastel Collection - Nail Art

Monday, 10 June 2013

Hello!  I've got some nail art for you today, using the Models Own Fruit Salad Collection that I showed you swatches of the other day.  So, as the five colours in this collection form a pastel rainbow, I decided that they would be pretty fab for a gradient.  I was going to use all five on each nail but then I thought it might be nicer to just mix them up in threes (I'll save the pastel rainbow for another day!)

I sponged the colours over a white base, they needed a few more layers than darker polishes, but that's to be expected because they are a lot paler shades.  Anyway, I totally loved this!  Like a summer ice cream party on my hands!

Obviously, I wasn't going to stop there, so I added a leopard print pattern using the black Barry M Nail Art Pen.  I did notice that it wasn't so easy to use on a shiny/day old top coat, so I did have to go over a few bits, and it's not *quite* as perfect as I originally planned (wine, lovely wine!  I blame you), but I think it definitely works nicely over a gradient.

So, what do you think?  I think I'm definitely going to be doing a few more gradients with these colours, I just love the summery feel!

Also, if you haven't already, please make sure you enter the fabulous giveaway I am involved in, amazing prizes of $100, and 3 x $50 to spend on pretties!
