Fake Tattoo Review: Nail Tattoos

Sunday, 14 April 2013

Hello!  I've got an exciting review for you today!  Ana from Fake Tattoos got in touch with me recently to see if I wanted to try out their new range of nail tattoos.  Fake Tattoos sell a vast range of the well, fake tattoos, that you can apply to your skin, however they have recently branched out to make nail tattoos.

I originally thought they would be water decals, however these work in the same way that fake tattoos work, in that you peel off the front cover, place directly onto your nail and then press gently with a damp sponge onto the back of the design.  The paper then eventually slides away and the transfer is applied onto your nail.  Wait a few minutes and then seal with top coat and job done!

Look at all the cute designs they have!  I love that some are quite unusual, (I can't say it's ever crossed my mind to have a camel on my nail!) as it has been fun coming up with ways to incorporate them into some nail art.

I have to say I was incredibly impressed with how good these tattoos/transfers are!  They go on so well, no fuss, no smudging, no ridges and they sit so flat on your nail that once you've applied top coat they are completely smooth.  LOVE.

First up, I've got a cute Sailor design for you.  I decided to do some stripey nails, use a mixture of red and blue and try out the anchor and ship transfers.  I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Kiko 336 (Blue) and GOSH Hot Coral and 2True Fast Dry Polish Shade 2 (pale blue).

The next design I did was a beach type theme, as I loved the little palm trees and wanted to try them out.  Colours I used for this were Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream, topped with Sinful Colors Cinderella, and then I did the sand with Sinful Colors Snow Me White and Barry M Yellow.  The glitter on my nail is 2True Glitterati Shade 1.  I put some little fish on my glittered nail.

So next design I have to show you is quite a simple one using some bows and hearts.  I decided to do a gradient on a few of my nails using Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Pistache and Envy,  and my glitter nail is Nail Junkie.

  2. Love the anchors. And the palm trees NEED to go over a sunset gradient.

I like the birds too. Do the birds.

  3. Can't really decide on a favourite, 'cause I'm a sucker for gradients and yours is absolutely stunning :) Although, if I have to say so, the little desert islands digits are quite cute also! :D
