Born Pretty Store Review : Diamante Heart Rhinestones

Thursday, 18 April 2013

Hello!  The other day I showed you the lovely water decals that Born Pretty Store sent me to review, today I've got some BLING to show you.

Born Pretty Store Diamante Heart Rhinestones

This is a wheel of multicoloured diamante heart shaped nail adornments.  They are so cute!  You can buy them here, for $4.14, which is a super bargain.  Remember to use discount code MXL91 for 10% off your order!

I've got three different manicures to show you today with these jewels, as I wanted to show how versatile they are.  They are quite flat on the back, so they are best positioned nearer the base of your nail to stick down better.  I stuck them onto my nail with top coat, but if you wanted them to last longer, then superglue is your friend.

For this manicure I used Sinful Colors Verbena and and then did some dotting with Sinful Colors Mint Apple.

Next up, I kept this pretty simple.  I love the yellow colour hearts, and I thought they'd stick out really well with a slightly contrasting colour, so Sinful Colors Sugar Sugar was perfect for this.

Finally, I did something a little more complicated.  I started off with a base colour of Sinful Colors Soul Mate, and then used some wavy nail guides and George (Asda) Deceit.  I then used some pink diamantes on a couple of my nails, and put on the same colour pink heart diamantes onto my other nails.

So what do you think? Pretty cool aren't they?  They aren't really there for longevity, but great for adding a bit of bling to your nails for a night out or special occasion.  And there is hundreds of ways you can use these to jazz up a mani. 1. Wow, those look lovely! two question, do you paint your nails for these posts in one sitting? or do you keep the manicures on for a few days? I would hate to wipe off those designs! you work exceptionally fast and so creative :D *dies* xx

    1. It depends! Sometimes I do, yes! *mental* I did do all of these in one day on Sunday, I usually start simple and then finish with a more creative one that I'll leave on!

In the week I normally can only fit in say a swatch and then one manicure nail art in one evening (which I leave on for the next day) so I try and spend all of Sunday catching up to get a few in the bank, lol. x

  5. When you add those hearts, how do you keep them on? I recently bought glimmery butterflies (half the size your hearts are) and I put one on my ring finger nail with nail glue. It came off the next day and I had to file the glue off my nail. Is there something else besides nail glue (for attaching fake nails to natural nails, like from Sally Hansen)? Thanks!

    1. Hi Michelle,
I do tend to use superglue and they stay on pretty well, sometimes I've had them stay on for 4 days (and only come off because I've wanted to redo my nails). I think Superglue might be slightly stronger than nail glue though.
Also, to remove and remnanats of superglue on my nails I use the tin foil method ( http://www.nuthinbutanailthing.com/2013/02/glitter-removal-massive-pain-try-tin.html ) and it usually gets all the superglue off, rather than having to buff it off my nails.
