Pretty & Polished Swatches

Saturday, 2 March 2013

I have some beautiful Pretty & Polished polishes to show you today.  Unfortunately my first batch went missing in the post, so the lovely Chels re-sent them to me and they dropped onto my door step this week - SQUEE!

So, today I have swatches of "Bubbles", "Let Them Eat Cake", "The Diamond Necklace Affair", "Sea Spray" and "Louis Louis" to show you.

Starting off with Sea Spray.

This is a lovely, lovely blue polish, with slight flecks of gorgeousness in them, this reminds me very much of the formula of the A-England polishes I showed you recently.

The colours shimmer as you turn them in the light.  Beautiful.  This is two coats, no top coat, so it's lovely and opaque.

Next up is Bubbles.  This is a clear base with tons of beautiful blues and the odd hint of gold glitters, in tons of different sizes.

I wasn't sure how opaque this would be, so I decided to layer this over Sea Spray, however this was only one coat, so I'll give it a go again soon on it's own, as I reckon it could be opaque in 3 coats.

Honestly, this polish is FLIPPING BEAUTIFUL.  LOOK AT THE SPARKLES!  LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Here is Let Them Eat Cake.  This is a pale pink cream base with loads of pink, red and yellow multi-glitter in it.

I know I say it all the time, but I do love pale polishes with glitter, it's such a lovely unusual combination.

This is three coats.  It's not that easy to see on the pictures, but there is loads of really fine pink glitter in there too.

Next up Louis Louis.  This is a greeny goldy metallic base with blue and red glitter.

What an unusual polish!  It's not often that I find a polish combination that I don't already have something similar to, so this was a lovely find.

This is three coats (it probably didn't need the third coat).  What do you reckon?  I really like this.

This is The Diamond Necklace Affair.

This is a clear base with lovely pale blue and silvery glitter.  I decided to layer this over Barry M Cyan Blue and Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream.  This is two coats.

To be honest, I don't think the base colour of the polish does the lovely glitter justice, it's almost flakie like and I think the pale polish underneath struggles to show this up, so I will try this again over a black base soon.

So, what do you think?  Which is your favourite?
