Nail art with textured polishes, part 2...

Wednesday, 6 March 2013

I recently bought the Barry M Textured Nail Effects, and the Boot's Seventeen Rock Hard polishes and a few days ago I showed you some ideas for nail art with all these textured polishes.   So, I'm back again with a few more ideas...  I'm determined to get these polishes to work for me!

First up, I decided to use Barry M Kingsland Road (Pink) and Ridley Road (Mint Green) for some polka dots.  This actually worked really well.

I painted a the base colour, and then used a dotting tool to place polka dots on my nails.  The dots did take a while to dry out, but they did merge in quite well with the base coat, and didn't look too lumpy (which is good, since we cannot top coat this polish!)

Next up, I used the Seventeen Rock Hard polishes and some studs to create this look.

I painted my nails with a base colour of Red, and then used a dotting tool to place dots on my nails using Grey.  I then added some gold studs I got from Born Pretty Store along the centre of my nails to jazz it up a bit further.

Finally, I decided to use Barry M Station Road (Yellow) as a centre stripe down some yellow nails (George at Asda £1).  I used striping tape to section it off, unfortunately the colour of the tape (black) seeped into the yellow polish a bit, but I am deciding to think that gives it more of a shadow / definement? (!)

Well, basically it's not quite the look I was aiming for but you get the idea!  I then added some different size studs along the centre of each nail to make it a bit more interesting.
