March Polish Days : VINTAGE

Tuesday, 12 March 2013

Hello!  Polish Days are here again, hosted by the lovely Polly Polish.  The theme for this month is VINTAGE.  So, since I don't own any vintage polish, I decided to go for a vintage / fashion type theme.  When I think of vintage fashion, lace and polka dots definitely feature, so I decided to use some water decals I got from Born Pretty Store on some of my nails and polka dots on the others.  I decided to go for neutral colours of beige, black and white, and then I threw some GOLD in there too (I do loves the bling).  Anyway, I'm not sure how vintage the whole effect really is, but I quite like it.

The polishes I used in this creation were Collection Cosmetics Milkshake (the gorgeous pale chocolate colour), Collection Cosmetics French Manicure White, Collection Cosmetics Liquorice (Black), Barry M LE Gold topped with No 7 Gold LE Glitter, Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Lychee (pale nude) and to tie it all in, the black I used on the "half moon" type nails was a black Misquided polish that is full of gold flecks.  The polka dot nails were screaming out for sometihng else, so I added a diamante bow to finish off the whole look.  (I never let GOING OVERBOARD get in the way of my manicures!  HELLO OVER THE TOP!  One day, "Less is more" will thwack me around the head and I'll finally get it!)
