Leopard Print Textured Half-Moons

Saturday, 9 March 2013

Morning!  It's the weekend!  I hope everyone has lovely plans and fun things to do.  I will be taking my lovely mum (and dad!) out for a meal tomorrow for Mother's Day, so I'm hopping out in a bit to go and get some flowers and choccies for my amazing mum.

But first, more textured nail art?  Yep, I'm still giving it a go!  If you want to see the other ideas I came up with, they are here and here.

Earlier this week I showed you my first ever leopard print manicure, and I'm a bit addicted now!  I decided to do another leopard mani, but with a twist this time, and used Seventeen Rock Hard Nail Effects in red to do a half moon at the base of of my nails.

Unfortnuately this was a bit tricker than usual due to this NOT BEING ABLE TO TOP COAT issue, so I painted my nails with a base of Barry M Lychee, then did the leopard pattern with Collection Cosmetics Liquorice (black) and Collection Cosmetics Milkshake.  I waited for this to dry, top coated, and then once that was dry, I used ring reinforcers as a guide to paint on the textured polish.

I really like the colour combination, but I think I might like it better with just normal red polish as the half moon and a smooth finish, but hey ho, here's another idea for textured nail polish nail art anyway!
