Leopard Print Gradient (and tutorial)

Monday, 4 March 2013

I'm really pleased with these nails I've got to show you today!  I love them!  For some reason I've never actually tried to do leopard print nails, generally with new things, unless I'm sure it's going to work, I'm sometimes put off trying a technique as I hate putting loads of time into something for it to turn out rubbish. (Perfectionist, with a fear of failure, much?!)  I'd seen a few tutorials for leopard print nails knocking about and I couldn't quite reconcile in my head how a few blobs here and there can end up looking right, but it actually does.

So I started off with a gradient; base colour of Collection Cosmetics French Manicure white, with Misa - Jester Ate The King Cake, George - Buttercup Shine (16) and Barry M Papaya.  If you want any tips for getting your gradient perfect, I did a tutorial a while ago.

I then blobbed (technical term!), Collection Cosmetics Neon Art (pink) over my nails using a large dotting tool and then outlined and dotted around some more with Collection Cosmetics Liquorce (black) using a smaller dotting tool.  Then finished with top coat.

I've put together a little tutorial too of how I did this.  If you do have a go I'd love to see your creations on my facebook page www.facebook.com/nuthinbutanailthing
