Pastel Gradient

Friday, 19 October 2012

I tried a few gradients out recently on my gradient dotticure using colours that weren't all the same shade and I really liked the effect, so I thought I'd try out three different colours and see what it would come out like, and pretty pleasing results.

I decided to use Grey (Kiko 329),  Lilac (Kiko 330) and Mint Green (Kiko 389).  Same process as always, and this has worked out quite nicely.  I do think that although purple, grey and green are very different colours, the fact they are all pastel shades helped them blend in together, although I may branch out and try some different colours together and see how it goes.  I suspect improved technique definitely helps here, I've also found in addition to the tutorial on my previous posts about gradients, that moving up and down slightly as you are sponging helps mesh the colours together too.
