Holographic Butterflies

Weirdly, after the 30 Day Challenge I seem to have no idea what to do to my nails.  I've a few new polishes I wanted to try and basically free range to do whatever I wanted and I just had brain freeze.  I went for a mooch on Pinterest and decided to have a go at butterfly nails.

Holographic Butterfly Nails

My lovely friend L had recently sent me a little parcel of goodies, including a blue holographic polish from Kiko that I really wanted to try out, so I decided to put that on as a base coat.  I took my photographs with a flash so that the holo shows up better.  The pink holo is QT from the China Glaze OMG collection.  The Blue Kiko Holo is actually LOADS better than the China Glaze, which I was really pleased by.  It applies really well and has loads of lovely tones in it.

After I applied these bases, I used a black nail art polish with a thin tip to draw on the butterfly pattern, and then a white polish with a dotting tool to put the spots on.  It's a really easy mani and I think it looks pretty effective.
