Halloween Nails - Aroooooooooooo!

Saturday, 20 October 2012

Arooooooooooooo!  Who is excited about Halloween?  Me, definitely, by the looks of it, as I'm a bit early to the party, but I couldn't help whacking out a Halloween manicure already. This took ages, but I reckon most of these nails would work ace on their own as an accent nails, so hopefully there is some Halloween inspiration here for you.

On my right hand (left to right) I did the following, (all black and white used was Collection Black and Collection White)

Mummy nail:  Grey basecoat (Kiko 328 Grey) and then a thin paintbrush to draw on the black lines of the bandages.  Large dotting tool to do whites of eyes, then a small tool to put in red pupils (Barry M Bright Red).

Pumpkin nail:  Orange base coat (Kiko 235 Pearly Orange), very thin dotting tool to do eyes, ears and nose in black, and then the same tool to draw on the leafy head (Kiko 343 Green).

Frankenstein's Monster nail:  Green shimmery basecoat (Misa Let's Go Green), then a thin paintbrush for hair and stiched up mouth, and a large dotting tool to do whites of eyes, then a small tool to put in black pupils.

Spider nail:  White basecoat, then a paintbrush to paint on spiders body.  Thin dotting tool to then draw on legs and web.  Large dotting tool to do whites of eyes, then a small tool to put in black pupils.  Small tool to do little red dots (Barry M Bright Red) at the base of the nail.

Cat nail: Red glitter basecoat (Barry M Red Glitter), small paintbrush to draw on cats body, then large dotting tool to do whites of eyes, then a small tool to put in black pupils.

On my left hand (left to right) I did the following, (all black and white used was Collection Black and Collection White)

Skull nail: Green shimmery basecoat (Misa Let's Go Green), then a thin paintbrush to paint on a round white circle.  Dotting tools to create eyes and mouth.

Bat nail: Orange base coat (Kiko 235 Pearly Orange), then a thin dotting tool to draw on the three bats (this was quite fiddle so they aren't perfect) and then dotting tools to do white of the eyes, then a really thin tool to put in pupils (especially on the smallest bat)

Ghost nail: Black basecoat, then topped with China Glaze Some Like it Haute.  I then painted on a white ghost shape onto my nail, and then once that was dry, dotted on the black mouth and eyes, then whites of the eyes, then red pupils (Barry M Bright Red)

Eye nails:  Basecoat of China Glaze Smoke and Ashes, then a dotting tool to do whites of eyes, then black pupils.

Spiders web nail:  Grey basecoat (Kiko 328 Grey) and then a thin paintbrush to draw on the black lines of the web, and then a dotting tool to draw on the spider, thin dotting tool to then draw on legs and web.  Large dotting tool to do whites of eyes, then a small tool to put in black pupils.

There you have it, Halloween nails!  Has anyone else got plans for a Halloween mani?  I suspect this won't be my last one!  I am entering these in Collection Cosmetics Halloween Competition on their Facebook Page, so if I do get shortlisted I'd be thrilled if you vote for me.
