Blue Checkerboard and Sparkles

Following on from my original attempt at Checkerboard Nails, I decided to have another go, and make it less time consuming for myself by just focusing on a couple of nails, rather than all of them.  These worked out pretty well.

I used Kiko Blue (338) as a base for all my nails (bar the silver sparkle one which was MEMEME Platinum with Barry M Holographic Glitter and then large Holographic "Glequins" placed diagonally across my nails).

For the glittery blue nails, I then added a coat of Angelica Blue Glitter (This is available really cheap from Primark) and then on one finger I also put a couple of coats of the Technic Blue glitter I used on my Galaxies Challenge, and on the other finger a couple of blue star shaped diamantes.

For the checkerboard nails, once the Blue base coat was completely dry, I then wrapped a long piece of striping tape horizontally round and round my nails (make sure it has pressed up to the edges) and then I cut smaller strips to place vertically on my nails.  Once this was in place, I used a dotting too to place black (Collection Black) and white (Collection White) dots in the gaps, waited for it to dry, then carefully removed the tap and applied top coat.

  1. I think I prefer the larger checkerboard here to the other ones.

Both are amazing but this one just edges it for me.
